You don’t have to make the same slow progress with surfing that I did. I remember how 6 years back, when I started surfing, I felt intimidated by others, who were way better than me and by the ocean, the waves, so powerful that I felt lost in the middle of it. I had no idea how to handle my board, which muscles to engage and how to improve my surfing skills. But I´ve always loved Yoga and it was and is my safe haven to come back to. Being on the mat, I have learned a lot about myself. My body, my mindset, my goals, intentions and how to follow along to surf better and happier. Since then a lot has changed. My love for surfing and yoga however, have grown even more and with progress, the fun increased too.

Not only has my surfing improved a lot as I gained strength and mobility in my body, my whole body language on the board changed and I am more at ease with the waves. Patience and experience to read the waves comes with time, mindfulness and the right mindset, whether it is to paddle out or at the line-up itself. 

Hey, my name is Kate, I am a certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher and a passionate Surfer, living in the Algarve, Portugal. I have experience in teaching yoga for surfers at various surf camps all over the world. While doing so, I saw that there was a huge lack of preparations – whether beginner, intermediate or advanced surfer. This is how the “Yoga for Surfers – Get ready for your Surftrip” Online Course evolved. 

I help surfers and those who are learning to surf to be physically and mentally ready for their surf trip or holiday. One often feels stuck with their progress in the water, physically not ready, quickly exhausted, and overwhelmed with the power of nature or comparison with others in their minds.

This course is for you, if you want to …

  • … catch waves with the right mindset and have fun in the water.
  • … start your surf holidays by catching waves from day 1.

This course is not for you, if

… you are seeking an endurance program. I highly recommend to also go swim or run besides the course, to work on your endurance as well if needed.
