Lower & Middle Back

For many surfers, this area of the mid-back (and surrounding ribcage) is a common problem area. As soon as we try to paddle out into the line-up, this tension makes it difficult to extend the T-spine and adopt an effective, upright paddling position. This puts undue strain on the neck as it bends upwards. It also constricts the shoulder blades and limits the ability to extend the head (which can lead to shoulder problems).
